About Me

As founder and CEO of Holliday & Associates, I bring three decades of experience as an information architect and software engineer, specializing in Microsoft’s cloud, data architecture, business intelligence, machine learning, process automation, and collaboration platforms, as well as modern mobile/web development platforms and languages, including Azure DevOps, .NET Core, C#, PowerShell, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, React, and Node.

I have substantial experience developing Azure, SharePoint, Office 365, SQL, web, and desktop solutions to meet client-specific needs, including records management solution development and integrating third-party tools. I served as Director and Principal Architect for Global Advisory Services at Lighthouse, and Microsoft SharePoint Server MVP for five years and I have authored or co-authored several popular SharePoint development books, including the first book focused exclusively on developing custom records management solutions on the SharePoint platform.

I developed an Azure ML predictive analytics solution and microservices framework to provide on-demand, cloud-based support for optimized put-option trading. I designed and implemented an extensible widget framework for SharePoint to enable developers to build and deploy specialized web parts more easily, as well as a custom web-based data catalog with auto-generated dashboards, KPIs, and configurable scorecards for on-demand analysis of enterprise data artifacts. I also developed a prototype electronic document and records management solution for the United States Treasury.

I hold a J.D. from the University of Michigan and an A.B. in applied mathematics from Harvard College. As a post-graduate fellow in computational linguistics at the Institute for Legal Documentation in Florence, Italy, I explored the emerging nexus between law and computer science by designing a graphical notation for the language-neutral expression of legal norms based on deontic logic and the Hohfeldian system of legal analysis. I then applied these concepts by building a LISP-based expert system prototype to recognize legal relationships from natural language expressions.

In my spare time, I serve as Executive Director of Works of Wonder International, an NGO committed to empowering individuals and communities to overcome the debilitating effects of trauma and stress through meditation and rhythmic breathing. Through Works of Wonder (WOW), my wife Alice and I have studied and taught meditation and breathing techniques extensively throughout the United States, Africa, Iraq and India for 30+ years.
